Arranging Numbers in Descending Order

What does arranging numbers in descending order means?

Arranging numbers in a descending order means to arrange the numbers in decreasing order, that is from the largest to the smallest.

The numbers shown in the figure above are arranged in descending order that is from the largest number to the smallest number.

When the numbers are arranged in descending order the largest number comes first and the smallest number comes last.

Arranging numbers in descending order is the opposite of arranging numbers in ascending order.

Numbers arranged in an ascending order are in increasing order that is from smallest number to the largest number.

Are the numbers given below arranged in descending order?

90, 20, 45, 75, 10

No, these numbers are not arranged in descending order as the numbers are not placed in the order from largest to smallest.

Even though the first number is the largest in the given set of numbers and the last number is the smallest but the second number 20 is smaller than the third number 45 and similarly third number 45 is smaller than the fourth number 75, so these numbers are not in descending order.

These numbers are now arranged in descending order.
