Repeating Patterns – ABC Pattern

Repeating Pattern

A repeating pattern is a pattern where a group of items repeats themselves continuously in a sequence.

Repeating ABC Pattern

In a repeating ABC Pattern there are three objects that repeat over and over again in the same order.

For example, there are three objects, in the pattern shown below, a hexagon, an oval and a triangle.

In the pattern, a hexagon is followed by an oval, an oval is followed by a triangle and a triangle is again followed by a hexagon and this continues.

It is asked what comes after oval. An oval is followed by a triangle.

So a triangle should come next after oval.

Another ABC pattern example is given below.

In this pattern the 3 letters “N”, “M” and “K” repeat over and over again.

N  M  K  N  M  K  N  M  K  N  M  K  “?” “?”

What letters should come in place of “?” in the pattern above?

In the above pattern, letters N M K are being repeated over and over again.

N is followed by M, M is followed by K, and K is followed by N again. This continues.

So N should come after K and then followed by M.

N  M  K  N  M  K  N  M  K  N  M  K  “N” “M”

These videos include examples related to few different repeating patterns.
