Skip Counting by 10

What is skip counting?

Skip counting is a method of counting by a fixed number other than 1. Instead of counting by ones, skip counting involves counting by a specific interval.

The specific interval can be another number for example 2, 5, 10 etc.

Skip Counting by 10

Skip counting by 10 involves counting numbers in increments of 10, that means when skip counting by 10, 10 is added to a number to get the next number.

Example of skip counting by 10 starting from 100

When skip counting by 10, 10 is added to a number to get the next number.

100 + 10 = 110,

110 + 10 = 120,

120 + 10 = 130… and so on

100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150… and so on.

Skip Counting by 10 starting from 7 will count as 7, 17, 27, 37, 47… and so on.

Skip Counting by 10 - Practice Examples

What comes after 28 in the figure below?

28 + 10 = 38

What comes next in the pattern below?

45, 55, 65, 75, 85, ?

In the number pattern above adding 10 to a number gives the next number. The number after 85 will be 10 more than 85.

85 + 10 = 95

45, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95
